Accounting Manager – Borås, Sweden
Lead group accounting in a growing Nordic company.
Responsibilities and Objectives
As Accounting Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the monthly and annual closing processes across all Nordic group companies. You will ensure that accounting is accurate, compliant with applicable regulations, and delivered according to established timelines.
The role covers both day-to-day accounting operations and the preparation of annual reports and corporate income tax returns, as well as responsibility for tax reporting in the countries where the Group operates. You will lead and coordinate the audit process with external auditors, including preparing audit documentation, responding to queries, and following up on recommendations.
You will play an active role in ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards, including K3, and provide qualified support to the wider finance team. An important part of the assignment is to continuously develop and improve the way the finance function works. You will drive enhancements in financial processes and internal controls, while also leading initiatives to automate accounting workflows.
The objective of the role is to deliver reconciled, high-quality monthly and annual closings on schedule, while ensuring that the company’s financial reporting is relevant, reliable, and provides strong decision support to management. You will report to the CFO, and the position is based in Borås, Sweden.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with a university degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, together with at least five years of relevant experience in accounting. Experience gained both in audit and in an in-house finance function is highly valued.
It is considered an advantage if you have worked in an online business and/or within a group structure with multiple legal entities, preferably including Nordic subsidiaries.
You have strong knowledge of K3 accounting standards and a solid systems understanding, with experience working in ERP environments, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. You are an advanced Excel user, and experience with Power BI is a plus.
As a person, you are structured, methodical, and accountable. You work proactively with a clear focus on continuous improvement and are able to manage periods of high workload by prioritising effectively and working towards clear deadlines. You are quality-conscious and detail-oriented, while also maintaining a broader perspective and understanding of how the finance function contributes to the company’s overall business goals.
You communicate fluently in Swedish and have a very good command of English, both written and spoken.
This is an opportunity to combine operational responsibility with a clear focus on improvement and development, in a role where quality, structure, and business value are at the centre.
